Make it last
Leather care guide
Looked after properly, a pair of Di shoes will outlast several pairs of anything else.
Every few wears
- Wipe off dust and grit with a soft dry cloth or a horsehair brush — grit is what actually wears leather out.
- Let shoes rest a day between wears so the leather and lining can dry.
- Use shoe trees, or loosely stuff with paper, to hold the shape and absorb moisture.
Monthly conditioning
- Apply a thin layer of matching Di leather cream with a cloth or applicator brush. Leave 10–15 minutes.
- Buff hard with a clean brush, then a cloth, to bring up the shine.
- For a mirror toe, add tiny amounts of wax polish with a damp cloth in small circles.
If they get wet
- Wipe off surface water, stuff with paper and dry slowly at room temperature — never near a heater, stove or direct sun.
- Once dry, condition well; water pulls the natural oils out of leather.
Suede & nubuck
- Brush with a suede brush only. Use a suede eraser for marks.
- Protect with a suede spray before first wear and re-apply after cleaning.
Bags, belts & wallets
- Keep out of prolonged damp and direct sun. Condition twice a year.
- Store bags stuffed and upright in the dust bag; don’t hang by the handles.
Resoling
Di shoes are stitched-and-cemented, so a worn sole or heel can be rebuilt. Bring them to any showroom for an assessment rather than replacing the whole shoe.
